April 11

Back to the farmer’s market today…last week was opening day but it was also Easter, so there were not a lot of vendors there. We have never attended in spring, so we were not sure what to expect. It was pretty empty last week and this week, especially compared to the late summer and fall when there are tons of stalls and tons of customers. There is just not a whole of stuff ready to come out of the ground yet!

But, it was still a beautiful day and it is nice to get over there and walk around a little. Aaron and Courts love all the samples. Here is the little cool man ready to hit the pavement.

There were mostly plant sales, but also some breads, baked goods and cheeses. I will post a picture of the farmer’s market later in the summer and you will see the difference. Last week, to our dismay, the kettle corn guy wasn’t even there! Thankfully he was there today and we got our first kettle corn of the season.

We also got a DEEEEElicious little blackberry cobbler and a giant bunch of green onions for tonight’s Chinese Chicken Salad dinner. I also did some shopping for myself at Kohl’s today, FUN FUN FUN!

Well, I had many candidates for today’s picture. First, I was going to do a series on our first attempt at giving Aaron a home haircut, but that did not work out, because the cheap crummy clippers we bought wouldn’t be powerful enough to cut through butter.

Then, I had a spicy noodle bowl for lunch, you know, one of those ones that is like glorified ramen and tastes SO good but has all the sodium you need for a whole week? It totally hit the spot, and then I noticed where it was made…

…what are the chances of that? Rancho Cucamonga is where I am from, and where my family lives. I didn’t really know things were made there, let alone spicy noodle bowls…

And then I saw the cutest sight of the day…

…those adorable sisters sitting out on the driveway on a gorgeous day (I refuse to go outside because like my mom said, these have been the worst two spring allergy days I can remember in a long time…). Ashley was grading and Courts was doing some Biology. How cute are they?

Let’s see…Friday, everyone came home and took a nap, we are all SO tired on Fridays! (Well except Aaron, who snuggled in our bed and watched some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while we took a nap). Then we had some deeeelicious Stouffer’s Veggie Lasagna, we love that stuff! Here is messy-face Magoo enjoying some yogurt for dessert.

These are Aaron’s new shoes for the summer. See the pollen on the surface of Aaron’s fort? Today was windy and the pollen was just AWFUL! We shouldn’t have played outside, or at least, I shouldn’t have! Bad allergy days!

I’m grading tonight…how it is possible I still have more grading?

A friend of ours from school is from Lititz, PA, and every time she goes home she stops at a locally famous candy shop and brings us back some chocolate that is…WOW. She brought Aaron back a chocolate covered pretzel stick, so thoughtful! We had two days of temperatures in the low 90s and when we brought it home from school the chocolate on his pretzel got all melty. We stuck it in the fridge and it got better, and he loved it! I think chocolate covered pretzels may be a new favorite snack of mine, but you’ve got to have a nice salty pretzel!!

Back to school, tired as can be!

In the care on the way home from school, Ash took a little nap, and Aaron put his hand on hers. First he was looking at her hand, and then he noticed me taking a picture with my phone and he was not happy about it! I am glad I caught it, even though he shouted “NO MOMMY DON’T TAKE A PICTURE!” Luckily, Ashley didn’t wake up! Cuties.
