Well, another sign that my boy is growing up is the type of toys he is interested in. This was a car-related Christmas for Aaron. He got lots of Pixar Cars and two race tracks and he also got a lot of Hot Wheels. It seems a certain little boy’s dad loved cars when he was a kid, and is now very excited (read: obsessed) with getting his little guy in on the fun. So…Chris was excited about the Hot Wheels stuff Aaron got, but he quickly became frustrated that Aaron didn’t have Hot Wheels track. Like, pieces of track that you can build anyway you want. According to Chris, that is the difference between Matchbox and Hot Wheels, Hot Wheels are made to play with on tracks. ANYWAY, Hot Wheels doesn’t make pieces of track for you to just buy anymore (Chris did some research), they just sell sets. So Chris hit eBay and found a couple of guys selling the exact same kind of track he had when he was a kid. One guy said he got his track new in 1967. So Chris ordered from both of them and now we have a TON of track.
Aaron got two launchers for Christmas, and now he can attach track to them. Chris helped him make a big long straightaway and they like to try all the different cars to see which ones go fastest.
So then…our family room looked like THIS, actually, it got way more covered in track after I took this. Chris made to adjoining loops and kept trying to see if a car could make around both of them. It’s fun to see them playing together so much.
I can't believe they don't sell those tracks anymore! Nick's going to be sad when I tell him - sounds like we have the same daddy/son combo here lol Mason got a lot of cars this Christmas too. And a racecar bed!
